Ooooh, the Bella Tomate!
Does the idea of putting tomatoes and basil in soap make your nose wrinkle in disgust?
But, it's all good..... and good for you! Home grown garden tomatoes and gently dried and added with homemade tomato sauce that will add an extra dimension to you skin care. If you think it's too weird or bazaar to be true, just think of the great benefits of Lycopene and Basil!
Lycopene is derived from cooked tomatoes, and can be the best antioxidant hydrator for your skin in the world. Use of Lycopene in skincare products has been endorsed by many University studies, plastic surgical societies, and dermatologists. Recent studies also show helpful benefits in skin cancer control and maintenance of men’s prostrate glands. It is proven to help sun damaged skin besides improving overall texture and feel.
And the Basil???
When most people think of basil, they think of pesto sauce or light leafy greens poking out of their food. It's true basil's benefits are obviously more often seen in the world of food, but is this herb effective in the world of skincare too? The answer is definitely, Yes! Basil contains antibacterial compounds that make it a good cleanser!
I see the questions swirling in your head. No, the fresh chopped basil doesn't have a fragrance once the soap has cured, and the tomatoes won't turn your skin red. The added tomato fragrance is so subtle, you will only notice "fresh".
Are you brave enough? Why not try the extreme in a wholesome, conditioning and antibacterial Bella Tomate today! Your skin will thank you.
Please note that all of our soaps are made the old-fashioned way using lye in the form of sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. Good quality soap just doesn't exist without lye!
The main ingredient for all our soaps is plant oil. Most of the time, these oils consist of Olive, Palm, Coconut, and Castor. However, there are times when we tweak a recipe and use something different, like Cocoa, Shea, or Mango butters, or Canola, Almond or Avocado oil. Whatever we use, you can be sure it is good for your skin.
Generally, Kiss of Nature bar soaps are generaly available in three sizes: 2 oz. (half bar), 3.75 oz (hand size) and 5.25 oz (bath size) bars. We lovingly refer to these as either a Wink, Smooch or Big Kiss. The biggest bar of all, available on some selected items, is known as our Bear Hug. We love being kissed by nature!
Handcrafted soaps last at leasrt three times as long as commerical soaps. To care for your soap to ensure it lasts as long as possible, be sure to let it dry out between uses. Storing it in a shower caddy under the shower head is probably not a good idea.
Most of all enjoy your soaps! And please do try any of our soaps as shampoo, even for those of you who may use hair coloring. You will be delightfully surprised at the squeeky clean and shine.
